Post LASIK Dry Eyes - TheraLife Can Help.

It is known that LASIK surgery for vision correction often result in dry eyes.  The healing process sometimes result in uneven cornea surface that creates friction each time you blink.  This friction creates inflammation and shuts on your tear secretion glands.

TheraLife Eye goes intra-celluarly to stimulate tear secretion glands to produce normal balanced tears to relief dry eyes.  TheraLife Eye also contains strong anti-inflammatory agents to counter act inflammation.

Here is a personal story from one of the TheraLife customers.  Learn how this can help you!

" My experience with TheraLife Eye Enhanced has been remarkable.  I had lasik eye surgery in 2007, because my eyes were too dry to wear contact lenses.  I should not have been a candidate for LASIK surgery, but like many others, my eye doctor went ahead with the surgery.  I was 62 years old and very near-sighted.

The surgery corrected my vision perfectly for both distance and close up, but I was left with eyes so dry, red and painful that the quality fof my daily life was severely impacted.  The eye doctor at the LASIK center prescribed a prescription eye drop and sent me away.  These prescription eye drops are expensive and di d not help relief my dry eyes.  I began seeing other opthalmologist who diagnosed me with chronic blepharitis and gave me a steriod eye drop - which I used for ten days each month together with the prescription eye drop twice a day.  The steroid eye drop had severe side effects that affect the liver and kidney function.   I was quite concerned about using steroid drops in the long run.

I searched online and found TheraLife eye.  I took 8 capsules per day as recommended and now I am down to two pills a day.  I take a few more when I travel to low humidity areas or just when my eyes feel dry. No more redness.  No more scratchiness.  No more dryness.  I actually feel that I look younger, because I'm not squinting in discomfort and my eyes are clear again.

I recommended this product to a friend who was using the same prescription eye drop until her insurance no longer covered it. She also is happy with the results from taking TheraLife Eye.  It may seem expensive at the beginning when the dosage is high, but once you started to maintain on dosage, it becomes very economical for the great results you get.  Best of all, it worked.

DASH Diet to Prevent and Relief Dry Eye Syndrome

Inflammation is involved in chronic dry eyes, autoimmune diseases such as Sjogrens, rheumatoid arthritis, Reynaud's syndrome and more.  The proper diet can greatly reduce inflammation and help with recovery.

This blog gives a brief guideline to the Dash diet which has shown promise in reducing inflammation and reduce chronic symptoms

The DASH Diet
DASH diet was developed as a guideline for healthy eating in general.  It is clear that this guideline also help prevent the development of chronic diseases including chronic dry eyes, autoimmune diseases, heart disorders, prevent osteoporosis, and more.

Key features of DASH diet is to increase consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy products.

Fruits and vegetables are important because of the low-caloric, high fiber and high-nutrient density, . Low-fat dairy products provide important calcium that is necessary to prevent osteoporosis. Other components of DASH include nuts, legumes (dried beans and peas), whole grains, low salt and reduce sugar intake.

Nuts are rich in mono- and polyunsaturated fats, high in fiber and protein. Legumes are a rich source of protein as well as fiber, and lean meats are important sources of protein. Grains are an important source of energy and should be in the form as whole grains, which will increase fiber consumption.

The DASH diet limits salt to 2300 milligrams per day, sugar intake to 5 tablespoons per week for the average 2000-calories/day diet.

Table 1 shows the recommended intakes of each of these food groups in servings per day for those who consume 2000 calories per day. from revised Dash diet 2010

How is diet related to Chronic Dry Eyes and Autoimmune Diseases- Sjogren's, Rheumatoid Arthritis?

A key factor in chronic dry eyes and autoimmune diseases has to do with poor blood circulation to the eyes,  limbs, external tissues. Poor circulation starts the disease process creating inflammation and damages to organs and tissues.

TheraLife can Help!
TheraLife's formulas are targeted to increase blood circulation and restore normal functions to, eyes,  organs and tissues.  Improved circulation prevents further damages and give the cells a change to function normally again.   Eating a healthy diet can help maintain normal functions and prevent future damages.

Links between Diet, Digestive Health, Dry Eyes and Stress

You are what you eat.  Does that sound familiar?

A healthy digestive system is essential to both physically and emotionally health.  Healthy digestive system starts with a healthy diet.

Eyes are the second most physiologically active part of our body next to our brain.  Our eyes require a lot of nutrients derived from the food we eat and the nutrients that get absorbed through our digestive system to maintain healthy vision.
Research has indicated that Age Related Macular Degeneration is an eye disease due to starvation of the retina, where essentially the retina is being deprived of essential nutrients due to circulatory changes and poor absorption of the nutrients from the food we eat.  Most individuals with Macular Degeneration has high cholesterol levels before medical intervention.  This is supported by large amount of research showing that the risk of onset of Macular Degeneration can be dramatically reduced through diet, lifestyle and targeted supplementation.
Diet and nutrition can also be linked to a wide range of other eye conditions as well including glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy.
Chronic stress causes a number of negative effects in the gut including:
  • decreased enzyme production to digest food
  • decreased oxygen delivery to the gut
  • decreased absorption of nutrients
  • reduced blood flow to the digestive tract, leading to decreased metabolism.
How to reduce stress-

Meditations in the form of yoga, walking, exercising can help reduce the effects of stress, function better with a clear head, and satisfaction in both personal and business relationships.

Dry Eye Treatments- Home Remedies for Demodex- Eye Mites Can Cause Irritation.

Eyelash mites, also called "Demodex" can cause irritation.

Eyelash mites are tiny parasites that live in the hair follicles of the eyelash roots. While most people have mites naturally, some people are allergic to them.

Symptoms of Demodex are red eyes, swelling of the eyelid and flaky skin or rashes are common.  These symptoms are the same as Blepharitis. The infection that eyelash mites can cause is known as demodicosis or "Demodex". Treating the infection quickly and completely will help prevent future episodes.

Here is a home remedy to try
Things You'll Need
1.  No tear baby soap
2. Water
3. Washcloth
4. Tea tree oil
5. New make up
6. Clean sheets and pillow cases

Instructions
1.  Wash your face and eye area with a gentle no-tear baby soap. Dilute the baby soap with water to create a 50/50 solution. Gently scrub with a washcloth twice a day.

2.  Apply a drop of tea tree oil diluted with water (50:50) to each eyebrow, as well as a drop to each eyelash, because mites living in the brows can easily drop down into the eyelashes.

3.  Throw away all your eye make-up and buy new items. Avoid wearing any make-up for at least one week, to keep the area clean.

4. Wash sheets and pillowcases on a regular weekly basis.

5. Schedule an appointment with your doctor if the problem persists. Your doctor can prescribe a topical antibiotic ointment to help kill the mites and clear up the problem.

Dry Eyes After Cataract Surgery- Prevention with TheraLife Eye.

Nearly (3) million Americans have cataract surgery each year.

Cataract is a cloudy eye capsules that no longer lets light into the eyes thus affecting vision.  cataract is not always a condition for people who are seniors, it happens in people younger than 50 years old.  Research studies have shown that cataract surgery do result in dry eyes, even if the patient did not have dry eyes before the surgery.  But of course, dry eye is an aging phenomena which also goes hand in hand with having cataracts.

Since majority of the cataracts occur in people who are over 65, this is also the group that is most likely to have dry eyes because of:
    1. Aging. – Dry eye is a common condition for people over 50.
    2. Cataract surgery punches a tiny whole through which the old lens is extracted and new lens put in its place.  This tiny hole may not heal over evenly after surgery, creating an uneven surface which causes friction every time you blink - thus resulting in inflammation and dry eyes.

Take Care of your eyes with TheraLife
Preoperative care

Get Your Cornea into the best condition before surgery with TheraLife Eye.

Before surgery, be sure to have your tear volume and tear viscosity tests done to assess your dry eye condition.  A reference point to refer back to after surgery.

If dry eyes are detected before surgery, the recommendation is to treat dry eyes  with TheraLife Eye and get the cornea into the best condition it can be to minimize dry eye outcome after surgery.

Post Operative Care:

After cataract surgery the signs and symptoms of dry eyes usually get worse. Following surgery, patients are given a number of topical drops, usually a steroid, antibiotic and an NSAID.  Prolonged use of postoperative medications may be one of the contributing factors of the patient's dry eye symptoms. It is best to stop or taper medications when they are no longer needed.

Use TheraLife Eye for both pre-operative and post operative care.

The benefits of TheraLife Eye-     Effectively relief dry eyes without the use of eye drops and restore cornea to the best health it can be before surgery.

Post-operatively prevent dry eyes and maintain cornea health through accelerated healing, reduce inflammation, and continue secretion of balanced sustainable tear.

Avoid the use of steroids and side effects.

Could A Llittle Mite Be Causing You Dry Eye Pain? Demodex

pink eyes from methsofhealing.com
Tiny mites, very common on human skin, can live in your eye lashes can give you sticky crusty build ups, rosacea, allergies and blepharitis ( inflammation of eye lids.  This is  called Demodex.

At any age group, there maybe 1000-2000 colonies of mites living on your eye brows, hair and/or eye lashes.  The mites  who live in your eye brows, and hair are likely to fall down to your eye lashes.
Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis are two most common mites found on human skin.  This type of bugs are called Ectoparasites.  These are worm-shaped with eight short legs clustered in their front third and they are about 0.3 to 0.4 mm long.  Demodex folliculorum lives on the lash follicles and feeds on sebum for its primary source of food. They appear as shiny, small cylindrical structures under high magnification.  Prevalence in younger people less than 20 years of age is about 13% to 20% and this increases with age and approaches to 95 to 100% by age of 70 years.1-3 It has been shown that the numbers of Demodex ( number of mites counted on lashes)  increase with age.4 Despite the high incidence of Demodex,  very few eye doctors pay attention to demoidicosis.
The recommended diagnostics tool in your eye doctor's office include:
  1. A detailed case history was taken to see  when meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), anterior blepharitis, dry eyes, and/or ocular allergy started.
  2. Careful examine using a slit lamp to see if the  typical cylindrical dandruff was noted at the root of eyelashes.
  3. Microscopic examination of an eye lash and count the number of adult mites, lavae and eggs are present.
Here are some examples of people with Demodex- do they sound familiar? Reported by J. of Opthalmology.
It was found that Demodex was seen in both men and women. A 40-year-old woman with dry eyes and allergy, presented mite tails protruding from base of lashes. It was also found that Demodex had an association with rosacea, dry eye and diabetes. Another interesting case showed the presence of the uncommon Demodex brevis which was seen in a 44 year old male. A 53 year old woman with cylindrical dandruff, eyelid edema, greasy oily debris, and  with a mite on the lash. This patient was intermittently taking steroid and antibiotic combination medications. Crusts and debris on eyelashes is often a sign of demodex infestation.

When you go to your eye doctors office, ask for an evaluation of these little mites, it could be a major cause

Dry Eye Treatment- Autologous Serum or Artificial Tears?

Eye Drop Photo
It has been estimated that at least 16 million people in the United States has dry eyes.  This number is only increasing due to long hours of computer use and the introduction of smart phones, video games.

The cheapest and most common dry eye treatment is artificial tears.  However, the preservatives in artificial tears can cause allergic reactions with severe side effects.  Non-preservative eye drops are available which are packaged in smaller disposable vials.  Non-preservative eye drops are more expensive.  The idea of using autologous serum as eye drop was introduced because it is a natural component to one's body, it too, must be used without preservatives.   Autologous serum drops are more expensive due to the processing and made into small sterile aliquots for use.

Autologous Serum Eye Drops for Dry Eye.
A research report recently compared the use of autologous serum drops versus artificial eye drops  This research study is based on databases from  Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  There are 5 groups included in this report based on 360 articles where autologous serum drops were used alone, or in combination with artificial tears.  This was then compared to artificial tears alone, placebo or no treatment. The research is based on comprehensive scientific databases using randomized controlled trials.

Based on the reported data from the studies, autologous serum drop was not associated with a significant improvement in tear volume (Schirmer's test), ocular surface integrity (fluorescein or Rose Bengal staining), or impression cytology compared to preservative-free artificial tears.  Autologous serum appears to be a safe treatment option for people with dry eye and may provide some benefit in improving participant reported symptoms in the short term (two weeks) but there is a lack of clear evidence to show that the application of autologous serum offers a significant therapeutic advantage over the use of preservative free artificial tears.

Conclusion:
Autologous serum drops does seems to have a short term psychological advantage on participants reporting dry eye symptoms.  Long term it did not perform better than non-preservative eye drops.

How To Relief Painful Dry Eyes and Cornea Abrasion

Severe cases of chronic dry eyes can result in cornea abrasion.  The uneven cornea creates friction when one blinks resulting in inflammation which leads to cornea abrasion.  The symptoms of cornea abrasion is constant pain, red, stinging eyes.  Eye drops, gel drops, puntal plugs are all ineffective in treating cornea abrasion.  Typical treatment is to use sclera lenses of cornea transplantation.

This is my personal story:
"I am writing this because I have suffered from dry eyes and cornea abrasion for more than 20 years.  I finally  got relief from TheraLife.  I hope this story will encourage you to try TheraLife Eye.  It is different than anything else I have tried.  It really works."

"I had chronic dry eyes for nearly 20 years.   My eyes were very dry, constantly stinging and very  red and bloodshot.  My friends from work actually accused me of being an alcoholic and drinking during work hours.  I was very embarrassed and upset.  After using many different types of eye drops and gels, nothing ever worked.  I also had a prescription for a very expensive eye drop from my doctor and used it for 6 months,  it made my eyes worse.  I stopped using it right away.

I found TheraLife searching on the internet.  I purchased TheraLife Eye plus Omega 3 Fish Oil.  I was stunned. My eyes are nice and white with no burning or stinging sensations after only one month.  My eyes actually shine with a healthy sheen to them.

I am referring everyone that I come across with dry-eye syndrome to call Theralife. I am a Medicare health insurance agent and have over a thousand clients.  It's surprising how many people suffer from dry eye symptoms.
Thank you Theralife so much for ending my agony. Please feel free to use my testimony.
Sincerely,
LA, United States

Success Rate in Treating Dry Eyes

A recent “AOA News" article  reports low rates of success in treating dry eyes in doctor's offices.  Are you one of those people who tried to use eye drops to no avail.  Dry eye is one of the most frequent complaints, and yet one of the least satisfactory.

Here are some facts from this publication.

1) About half of  adults (48%) in United States experience one or more dry eye symptom(s) regularly.  For the world, multiply by 2 1/2;
2)  Almost 19% of women over the age of 55 have experienced dry eye symptoms for more than 10 years,  Typically they tried eye drops, prescription eye drops, puntal plugs, nothing helped.
3) Sixty Nine Percent (69%) of the people who experience one or more dry eye symptom(s) have not visited a eye care professional to treat symptoms
4)  Those who visit an eye care professional to treat dry eye symptoms, 19% visited more than once before finding relief, and 22% reported that they still have not found relief.
This publication indicates that of all the ocular complaints, dry eye symptoms out number them all in the doctor's offices.  People who take relief into their own hands experience significant visual and quality of life issues due to dry eye, and have not found substantial relief from the condition.

TheraLife is here to help.

Why is this happening?
Several possible explanations.

1. Eye doctor's training in the medical schools are treat on the surface approach, e.g. use eye drops.  Unfortunately, frequent use of eye drops make eyes drier over time.
2. Capsules that claims to relief dry eyes packed with oily materials is targeted to lubricate your eyes through oral intake. These oils do have anti-inflammatory activities, but often by itself is insufficient for chronic dry eye relief.
3.  Capsules that contain lutein is good to prevent macular degeneration over a period of 10-15 years.  It does not relief dry eyes.

4. None of the capsules or drops deal with the fact that in chronic dry eyes, often the tear secretion glands are shut down due to inflammation.  Natural tear contain more than 300 components which is nearly impossible for artificial tears to duplicate  The body requires constant tear secretion with the correct thickness in order to lubricate your eyes comfortably.

How TheraLife Can Help

TheraLife Eye restores normal cell functions to both lacrimal ( tear volume) and meibomian glands (lubricants) for balanced lasting relief all day long.  We highly recommend Omega 3 Fish Oil to be used concurrently in order to achieve maximum results.

Tips for Prevent Dry Eyes After LASIK Eye Surgery

LASIK eye surgery maybe the best thing since sliced bread for those with severe needs for vision correction.  The promise of being able to see without glasses or contact lenses is so appealing that people started to sign up without proper knowledge of the risks and downsides.

Unfortunately, for some people LASIK surgery result in permanent dry eyes.  Their eyes hurt, some can not see clearly, and the impact on their work and productivity can be significant.  Unfortunately, eye doctors do not warn some patients who already have dry eyes and should not be qualified for getting LASIK.  There are plenty of LASIK chat rooms to that effect.

After LASIK, it is common to be treated with eye drops, prescription eye drops, punctal plugs, thick gels to prevent tear evaporation, oily eye gel capsules that are suppose to thicken your tears.  After 6 months only to realize that you have dry eyes for the rest of your life.   Your eyes are still dry, irritated, red, tired and it is affecting your work.

Do you have dry eyes before surgery?

A common symptom for those with dry eyes is the inability to tolerate contact lenses.
Typical dry eyes symptoms such as red, painful, light sensitive, gritty, and foreign body sensation.

Why LASIK Result in Dry Eyes?
LASIK surgery cuts and shapes the cornea to the eye surface for vision correction.  Afterwards, the cornea should heal to a smooth surface again.  Sometimes, the cornea does not heal smoothly creating an uneven surface which causes friction when you blink.  This friction causes inflammation which shuts down your tear secretion glands, resulting in dry eye symptoms.  Other reasons could include damage to the corneal nerve tissue and tear gland cells, and cornea does not heal over completely leaving tiny aberrations.  Uneven cornea surface creates more irritation, inflammation upon blinking causing dry eyes to get worse.

How to prevent dry eyes while you age.

Dry eyes is a natural phenomena while we age.  With the advent of large number of baby bommers now reaching the age of 50 and over, this is becoming an increasing problem.

Physical parameters play a big part, such as decreased circulatory health resulting in less blood being delivered to organs and extremities including the eyes. Dry eyes can be very uncomfortable, irritated, red, hurt, can't open eyes in sun light, difficulty driving and more.

What Causes Dry Eyes?

As we age, our body produces less tears. Here are some examples.
  • Watery Eyes-More than 50 % of the watery eyes are caused by dry eyes.  Usually the dry eye condition existed for some time and was not getting relief.  The brain started to cry in order to provide moisture.  The result is excessive tearing.  This type of tear is called reflux tear which you have no control over.  In order to treat watery dry eyes we have to first treat dry eyes, then train the brain not to cry.  Typically it will take 3 months on initial high dose TheraLife Eye in order to stop tear over production.  To date, TheraLife Eye seems to be the only relief for watery dry eyes.
  • Menopause- Hormone change induce dry eyes, especially in women over 50.   The typical symptoms of menopause will be evident, hot flashes, insomnia, vaginal dryness, mood swings, fatigue, headaches and dry eyes.
  • Tear Production- Decreased tear production is a natural aging process. Tears protect, wash away dust, soothe, provide oxygen and nutrients to the cornea, and help fight eye infections by removing bacteria in our eyes.  TheraLife Eye focuses to revive the tear production glands in order to achieve normal levels of tear production.
  • Medications- Medications often have side effects that result in dry eyes.  Particularly, antidepressants, antihistamines, muscle relaxants, sleeping pills, and pain relievers. Natural therapy is an alternative more balanced approach to aging diseases with less side effects.

  • Caffeine in foods- Caffeine in general tend to constrict blood vessels in the long run.  We recommend that you  avoid these foods and drinks if possible as caffeine is known to dehydrate the body.  You may have heard there are reports that caffeine can increase tear production.  This concept is worth while verifying.
  • Computer use- Internet allows us to connect with the world. However, sitting in front of the computer for long periods of time can  dry your eyes out.  Rest often and remember to blink.

Visoin Correction LASIK Result In Chronic Dry Eyes- Get Relief from TheraLife

Vision correct using LASIK is now very common.  People don't want to wear glasses, or have dry eyes and they cannot tolerate contact lenses.  Even though with dry eyes, eye doctors perform LASIK anyway, which result in permanent chronic dry eyes.

The reasons include prior dry eye conditions, cornea abnormalities, severed nerves in the eye due to surgery.  So rethink LASIK and consider having dry eye for the rest of your life before signing up for a life time of regret.

Here is a story from a TheraLife customer who had LASIK induced dry eyes and how he found relief in one week.

I had lasik surgery 4 years ago.  I was told after the surgery that I will have chronic dry eyes, and  to use eyes drop.  I ended up using eye drops every hour, and my eyes were getting drier and drier.  I tried every kind of eye drop available on the market to no avail.   I ;looked up a lasik surgery forum online and noticed others have worse problems than mine.  Dry eyes was making my life very limiting and difficult.

After one year, it became clear that my eyes had completed healed as much as they could post-Lasik, I searched the Internet for treatments for dry eyes and found Theralife.  The testimonials looked promising. In desperation, I called Theralife. they were  very encouraging.  I explained that I was one year post-Lasik and that my eyes were still very dry.  They said that Theralife Eye should help and it may take 3 months to get results. I was encouraged.
I received my first order of Theralife Eye.  I followed the enclosed instructions. To my pleasant surprise I noticed relief within a week. Two weeks later, it was even better. Theralife Eye, according to their brochure, builds your own system over time and continues to improve your tear quality and tear production over time (2 to 3 months). I continued to take Theralife Eye and after about 3 months, my eyes felt very comfortable. I have been taking Theralife Eye every day ever since. When I forget once in a while, my eyes still feel great.  I have been taking Theralife Eye for 3 years now.
Thank you so much for making this wonderful product. I am able to live a normal life and have comfortable eyes because of your product.
